Guam International Marathon – Lace up those Running Shoes

Guam-International-Marathon-2015Love a good run? Marathon fever? Lace up those sneakers and head over to Guam for the Guam International Marathon coming up on April 12, 2015. The Guam International Marathon is being organized by the Guam Visitors Bureau along with the Pacific Islands Club and United Airlines and comprises of four races: a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K run and a 5K run.

The GIM courses has been certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation), and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. All courses begin and end at the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) in Tumon.

There are several new features being introduced at this year’s GIM to encourage runners. In addition to more aid stations along the way, an on course mini fiesta will be offered at these stations all through Guam, featuring runner friendly local cuisine. There will also be entertainment along the course by popular, local music groups as well as more cheer squads to cheer on the runners.
