If you are thinking of traveling to Guam, the best time to go would be now, when Guam Liberation Day is being celebrated. Guam Liberation Day falls on the 21st of July and celebrates the liberation of Guam by the US from the occupying Japanese troops during World War 2. The event is marked by military parades, carnivals and festivities all over the island. The tiny island nation, the largest in the Marianas and its people and culture are celebrated along with paying respects to the armed forces.
The theme for this year is “Meggai Na Hinirasion Setbisio yan Sakrifisia, or Generations of Service and Sacrifice.”
