More flights to Guam Boosts Tourist Influx for Visit Guam 2016

visit guam 2016With the Visit Guam 2016 campaign heating up, Guam increases air connectivity by linking up with several Asian nations to draw greater footfall. Another factor bound to bring in more tourists is the ease of entry for Chinese tourists to Guam.

Several Asian airlines have added more flights, including daily services, to the tiny island, which is one of the territories of the United States, and is situated in Micronesia. Its most popular source markets are Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and Guam’s department of tourism hopes for a booming 801,000, 400,000 and 49,000 visitors from these countries, respectively, during 2016.

Among the airlines operating more services to Guam are South Korea’s Seoul based T’Way Air, which has commenced daily services between Incheon and Guam from September 24, and from Daegu via Osaka from October 1.

China Airlines proposes to add two more weekly flights between Taipei and Guam from October 25, to make a total of four flights per week. This is in addition to Air Busan’s four times a week Busan – Guam flights, which have been in operation since July 23.

Besides increased flights, the ease of entry for Chinese passport holders to Guam and its proximity to the island is an additional boost to tourism in Guam. Now Chinese travellers enjoy a 10-year visa extension that came into effect from November 2014 and Guam aims for 30,000 visitors from China in 2016.

Dding impetus to the Visit Guam 2016 campaign is the Only on Guam local campaign by the Guam Visitors Bureau, serving as a curtain raiser to Visit Guam and is conducting a massive promotional blitz centered around events, activities, and experiences that can be found exclusively in Guam.

With all the footfall expected next year, the hotel industry is also set for a major fillip and if you plan to visit Guam, the first thing you should do after you tick your tickets to Guam is to book yourself into Days Inn, the most popular Guam hotel. We offer you value for money and are conveniently located close to all the major event venues. We have also been rated #1 Hotel in Tamuning by Trip Advisor.
