Guam celebrates Liberation Day, a day of remembrance

Guam was liberated from Japanese Forces on July 21st, 1944 and every year; this day is of great importance to Guam’s citizens. This day is celebrated as Liberation Day, and the island honors all of its Chamorros who were killed, displaced and suffered the atrocities of the war. Brave survivors are also honored as part of the celebrations.

A grand parade down Marine Corps Drive in the island’s capital village of Hagåtña is the highlight of the day and the evening is marked with Liberation carnival and fireworks.

Days Inn Guam, a premiere hotel in Tamuning, also joins in the celebrations. Plan your visit to Guam, book your accommodation at Days Inn Guam and avail of the convenient Room & Car Package, which allows you to explore Guam on your own and also be part of The Liberation Day Celebrations.
